Before we can even discuss the hows of building a network marketing business we really need to
know what business you are actually in. Unquestionably, we are in a people business. It is all about the people. It’s about their experience with you, your product, and the opportunity they have come to the table for. Keep in mind that the sales experience is always based on the experience the person has with you and never with the process!
As we build customers, organizations or individual teams, we encounter individuals who have many varied and different goals and aspirations. They come to networking for a variety of reasons. It is not always financial as we so often think. Occasionally they come to be part of a company with a very unique product that is making a difference. They also may join for social reasons: to meet new friends or get some recognition which is missing in their lives. And of course, most seek the financial rewards providing them either full time careers and incomes or part time involvement to supplement their regular household earnings.
For everyone, it is a chance to be in business for themselves with very low startup costs and to be able to experience the spirit of free enterprise.
For those and many other reasons, we are definitely in the people business.
It is critical that the parent company embrace A PEOPLE BUSINESS philosophy thereby creating a strong foundation for their culture. Four essential factors need to be present in that culture: Respect for the individual, Support thru duplicatable processes and
easy to use marketing tools, Training to develop each person’s full potential, and Recognition for accomplishments at all levels.
